06 Jun My Go-To Smoothie Bowl!
I am loving having smoothie bowls for breakfast these days. It’s great alternative for lunch too! You can load them up with all kinds of healthy goodness and they taste good too. I find that I enjoy eating a thick creamy smoothie bowl as to drinking smoothies. Must be a texture thing for me; it’s like eating ice cream except it’s all good for you and STILL tasty!
Another thing that I found A-MAZING for me was how it helped my digestion. Now, this may get a little TMI for some of you, so you can skip the next paragraph if you need to – haha! When I say it helped my digestion, I mean pooping. Holy cow – what a difference this makes!! This can be a sticking point for me – all puns intended as I can be on the struggle bus in that area at times. Chia seeds have proven to be a MAJOR friend for me in this department. I’ve tried ALOT of things too: magnesium pills and spray, eating more fruits and vegetables, avoiding breads, drinking enough water, herbal supplements, teas……I’m sure there are others that I’m missing. Anyway, moving on – literally – haha! Chia seeds are loaded with healthy omega-3 fats and fiber. Omega-3’s are healthy fats that fuel our brain. Fiber keeps your gut working and helps clean out the garbage in your gut. The longer it takes us to go #2, the longer we have toxins in our body and are likely to get reabsorbed – yuck! That’s part of the reason you don’t feel well when you have don’t your business regularly – your literally full and on top of that reabsorbing toxins your body was eliminating in the first place. If you are one that leans toward being constipated and aren’t interested in a smoothie bowl – get some chia seeds and sprinkle them on whatever you want! You can sprinkle them on your salad, yogurt, vegetables, etc.

Tammy's Go-To Smoothie Bowl
- 1 cup nut milk
- 3 tbsp ground chia seeds
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberrys
- 2 scoops Vital Proteins collagen peptides
Blend all ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth - I use my tamper to help blend. You can add a little more milk if too thick.
Transfer to bowl and top with fruit, granola, hemp seed, or bee pollen. Feel free to swap out with your favorite fruits. Get creative!
